ABOUT US/CONTACT

WHAT IS INDEPENDENT WORLD REPORT?

We are a bimonthly print magazine – a global briefing on human rights, international politics, peace and justice. We are an internationalist newsmagazine of independent human rights journalism, one that celebrates freedom and liberty. Our editorial mission is to highlight the forgotten and untold stories of the world.

FOR WHOM?

We believe that our rights, liberties and freedoms are dear to all of us. That is why we can not leave reporting and defending them solely to advocacy organisations, governments, international agencies and the corporate media.

At present, there are briefing papers from advocacy organisations that target government officials as the primary audience. There are jargon-heavy academic journals on international politics and law for researchers and lawyers. There are magazines that cover the world through the eyes of an economist or a multinational banker. Then, there is big media where pro-democracy protests in Iran or Honduras compete with the death of Michael Jackson for headline space.

Independent World Report is for people who care and want to be informed about the state of freedom and liberty around the world, for the human rights activist in all of us who needs a magazine with dedicated coverage of the world through the eyes of a humanist.
